Building on the success of COP26 recommendations, we hosted Mock COP27. This was a two day meeting that was held on the 3rd and 4th of October 2022 under the theme: “Youth, Gender, and Future Generations”. The meeting majorly focused on increasing participation for young women in climate negotiations.
The meeting brought together 52 young people (32 females and 25 males) from different parts of the country that included Karamoja, West Nile, Kasese, Sebei, Bugisu, Busoga, Buganda among others. Priority was given to delegates from disaster prone areas and regions that recently suffered from extreme weather events such as floods, landslides, and drought.
